Education Research, Learning Assessment & Systems Strengthening

Education is central to human development, equity, and long-term social transformation. EM Associates Limited provides specialised research, monitoring, and evaluation services across the education continuum, beginning with early childhood education (ECE) and extending to primary education, remedial learning, catch-up programmes, school readiness initiatives, and foundational literacy and numeracy interventions.

Our work supports ministries of education, development partners, NGOs, and education service providers to understand what improves access, participation, retention, transition, and learning outcomes for children in diverse contexts.

Our education research combines classroom observations, learner assessments, teacher and caregiver interviews, school leadership surveys, and community consultations to generate practical evidence on teaching quality, learner progression, inclusion, and system performance.

We assess the effectiveness of early stimulation and school readiness programmes, evaluate primary education interventions, and examine catch-up and accelerated learning models designed to support learners who are over-age, out of school, or performing below grade level. Our analysis also explores barriers affecting girls, learners with disabilities, vulnerable children, and children in rural or underserved communities.
